WFC August Newsletter
We know wildfires are impacting communities across Washington right now, and we want to acknowledge the challenges this creates for our network.
Food banks, pantries, meal programs, and community partners are responding in many different ways — supporting neighbors who have been evacuated or displaced, meeting increased demand for food, adjusting operations, and caring for staff and volunteers who may also be personally impacted by the fires.
We’re here to support one another through this.
If the fires are affecting your organization or community, please reach out and let us know what you’re seeing and what would be helpful. WFC can help connect organizations with resources and partners, work through challenges together, and help identify where additional support may be available. We also encourage you to stay connected with your WSDA Lead Agency or WSDA Food Assistance representative so they are aware of what is happening in your area.
We’ve included additional resources below that may be helpful for caring for yourself, your family, your team, and your community during this time.
Please continue to stay connected and let us know what you’re experiencing. We’re grateful to be part of a network that shows up for one another and for communities across Washington.
With care,
The Washington Food Coalition Team
