About Washington Food Coalition
Incorporated in 1992 as a private non-profit, the WFC is the result of a merger between the Western Washington Food Coalition and eastern Washington’s Northwest Regional Food Network. The first Executive Director was hired in 1997. Members of the WFC range from large, multi-service agencies and distribution warehouses, to meal programs and small volunteer-operated food banks in both urban and rural communities.
Washington Food Coalition serves as the collective voice of more than 300 members from:
- Food banks
- Individual meal programs
- Washington’s two Emergency Food Distribution Systems: the Free Foodbanking Network and America’s Second Harvest
- Nutritionists & Dietitians
- Tribal Food Voucher programs
- Anti-hunger advocates

WFC Staff:
WFC’s staffing includes two full-time equivalents and several interns throughout the year.
Executive Director, Tracy Wilking
Tracy has over 10 years experience in the non-profit sector ranging from program management to fundraising. She has served as the Executive Director of WFC since December 2004. Tracy began her non-profit career as a VISTA volunteer at a meal program in Washington, DC. Since that time, she has continually worked in the field of social services, and specifically emergency food.
Operations Manager, Bonnie Eccles
Bonnie has over 30 years experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll. She has worked with WFC for over five years. Before her non-profit career at WFC, Bonnie worked as a civilian in the military, rising through the financial ranks since 1971.
Membership Coordinator, Talya Karr
Talya is the first person to work in this new part-time position for WFC. Over the last several years she has worked closely with youth programs. In her work with WFC, she is looking forward to building a stronger network of members.
